History and description of the mansion

The luxurious building in the Rococo style was built more than three centuries ago on the territory that once belonged to Prince Dolgoruky. In the 17th century the mansion was owned by the Saltykov-Chertkovs. This building has always been recognized as the most beautiful capital estate. Today, the house still looks amazing.

At different times, the Wonderful Mansion was visited by prominent personalities – Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander Pushkin, Nikolai Gogol. At the end of the XIX century. the world-famous writer Lewis Carroll, who became interested in the rich library of the estate, visited here.

The building impresses with its original white and blue facade and numerous intricate elements. The mansion has many unusual rooms – Gothic Hall, Dream Room, Book Market. Everything has been completely renovated inside and out. In some places, work is still underway.

The program includes showing the first version of this amazing fairy tale, watching a rare silent movie.

Opening hours and locations

A wonderful mansion is located on the street. Myasnitskaya, d. 7. It is open for guests every day. On Friday and Saturday the exposition is open until 22.00.

It is convenient to get to the sights by metro. Coming out at Lubyanka, you should go through the entire Biblio-Globus. A wonderful mansion will be located on the left side, across the road.
