Armory and Diamond Fund

The main attraction of the Russian capital is Red Square and the Moscow Kremlin located on it. However, not everyone knows that you can visit the Armory, the Diamond Fund. An amazing museum-treasury, which contains important state regalia, historical values, for example, the royal throne, the Cap of Monomakh, a collection of Faberge Easter eggs. These objects have not only cultural significance, but more importantly – amaze with their splendor, amazing designs of jewelry, royal costumes. The presented symbols of autocracy and family jewels of the rulers of Russia from different eras will appeal to everyone without exception.

Why is it worth visiting the Armory and the Diamond Fund?

First of all, we note that the Diamond Fund is usually understood as a permanent exhibition in the Armory of the Moscow Kremlin. It was discovered back in 1967, including jewelry from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries, as well as a variety of precious stones, nuggets, interior items and costumes of historical significance. A visit to the Armory, this treasure museum, is worth it at any age. Children will be interested to learn the history of their country, and adults will appreciate the sophistication of jewelry from different eras. Tourists are also attracted by this part of the Kremlin Palace complex.

An interesting fact is that the Armory was named after the state treasury. The museum opened in 1806, and at first was intended only for visiting nobles close to the imperial family. After 1918, the treasure museum became available to all residents of the country. The collection includes interesting interior items, jewelry, women's accessories with beautiful designs. All these objects were kept in the royal treasury for a long time. Also, some of them were received by members of the imperial family from representatives of foreign states. The building of the Armory was built in 1851 in the Russian-Byzantine style. It perfectly reflects the architectural traditions of that period, and also brings to life the charm of ancient palaces. Now the museum's collection contains more than 4 thousand exhibits. Particularly interesting for tourists are objects of the nineteenth century, which can tell a lot about the history of the Russian Empire.
