The longest house in Moscow
Just imagine: you suddenly ran out of salt, or you urgently need to return the flash drive to your neighbor. And to get to the next entrance, you need to ride two stops on a trolley bus ... Nonsense? Not at all! If you live in the longest house in Moscow on Varshavskoye Shosse, also known among locals and seasoned tourists as a "recumbent skyscraper".
Location: Warsaw highway, 125, can be reached by any public transport
Hours of operation: 24/7 (entrance only for employees)
Object features:
Looking at this slightly gloomy, strange building, completely in the spirit of the faceless buildings of the Soviet period, the building involuntarily recalls the satirical works of the Strugatsky brothers. After all, this house was built specifically for the needs of the research institute, and it serves science to this day. By the scope of the construction, one can understand what a great future the Soviet authorities saw in 1969 in the field of electronic computing. It was planned to build a huge complex specifically for the needs of research institutes, in the center of it a majestic tower was supposed to rise. Developed a grandiose project Vsevolod Voskresensky. But construction began only in 1972 and ended already in the mid-80s with the erection of an arched long building, which can be admired today. The state did not have enough funds for more.
Since technical progress by that time had stepped far forward, much of the internal layout turned out to be unnecessary and inappropriate - a computer in the 85th no longer required a separate spacious room, as in the 72nd. Therefore, the object was commissioned and put into operation in a slightly different form than in the original sketches. The funding stopped there, and the research institute complex for the creation of electronic equipment for spacecraft equipment was never built. But the Institute of Electronic Computing Technology in the Lying Skyscraper continued to function even in the difficult 90s.
The total length of the unique building is 735.8 m, and to get from one end to the other, you need to drive three bus stops. More precisely, take one, drive the second, and get off on the third - this is such a small tour of the sights of Moscow and, in particular, the Warsaw highway. At e
The height of the building is only 6 floors. But if you put the house on the end, then it would reach a height of approximately 360-story skyscraper. Impressive?
Rumor has it that employees of the research institutes move along the corridors on bicycles and electric cars. But these are just myths and fairy tales “for visitors”. The building is divided into compartments with its own system of corridors; there is no need to go, let alone move from one end to the other.
Things to do:
There is nothing special to do here, except to look from the outside at the "Lying Skyscraper" (officially - OJSC "NITsEVT") and think about how many good projects in principle remained to exist only in the fantasies of the idealists of the last century. However, today the best IT specialists of the country are working here regularly and showing excellent results, so you won’t go inside without a pass.
