Wakeboarding in Moscow: everything you need to know about the new sport

Wakeboarding in Moscow: everything you need to know about the new sport

Now extreme sports are becoming more and more popular. For example, wakeboarding, which combines elements of water skiing, jumping and acrobatics. It also has similarities with surfing and skateboarding. In Moscow, a minute of riding on a winch costs about 100 rubles, and when driving behind a boat - at least 170 rubles. However, there are places where you can try to stand on the board for free. Enjoy the "city wave", try a new sport without leaving the capital of Russia. At the same time, wakeboarding has many advantages:

  • You can learn the basics in 15-20 minutes;
  • Suitable for children over 12 and seniors;
  • Teaches coordination, helps to improve the functioning of the vestibular apparatus;
  • Cable wakeboarding in Moscow is inexpensive and up to 8-10 people can move along one route at the same time (a great way to relax with friends);
  • Wakeboarding is safe and healthy.

As already noted, there are two types of wakeboarding – cable and boat. In Moscow in the summer, you can try your hand at learning how to stand on a wakeboard boat. The athlete holds on to the halyard, moving behind the boat and performing various tricks on the "traveling wave".

Where to ride a wakeboard in Moscow?

Now there are not so many special venues in Moscow where you can learn how to conquer the "city wave". It should be noted that wakeboarding remains predominantly a summer entertainment (until frost sets in in October-November). Here are three interesting places to go to learn how to wakeboard:

  1. Sportstation in Sokolniki (open from May to September). A new youth place in Moscow with relatively low prices for wakeboarding. The advantage of the park is the availability of subscriptions and trial tests. If you don't like it, you don't have to pay.
  2. Moscow wake in the Northern Tushino park. There are only two winches here – reversible for beginners and circular, which will certainly appeal to real extreme sportsmen. The price is the same – 1000 rubles for 1 hour. There are trainer services and equipment rental.
  3. Drop park at VDNH. The place will soon become a cult, because it already attracts a lot of young people. However, the cost of skiing is higher than in other parks. 1750 rubles per hour (but for groups of 3 people). Coach services are free. There are many interesting options for learning to wakeboard, which is an important advantage of the place.

An interesting fact is that in 2022 about 20 wakeboarding parks were opened in Moscow. This direction will be actively developed further. If you want to diversify your weekends, have a great time with your loved one or friends, come to VDNKh, Sokolnik or Severnoye Tushino park. You can also find other sites according to your preferences.
