Park "Gorka"

Park "Gorka" got its name from the locals due to the presence of a small hill. It is the youngest and smallest in area in Moscow.

Stairs became a feature of the park, without which it would be impossible to walk along the slope. They are made of classic stone and elegant cast iron and divide the territory into several conditional tiers.

In the park "Gorka" everything is very compact and varied. Thanks to this, locals and guests from the Moscow region love to visit this public space, which is filled with aesthetics and the beauty of nature.

A bit of history

The park in Moscow opened in the summer, where there used to be a spontaneous parking lot with an abandoned wasteland.

In the 1930s, there was a school there, which was converted into a hospital during the war. After the building was repurposed as a district hospital. Due to it, a square was formed, which became the basis of the future "Gorka". When there were times of the siege of Leningrad, the children were sent to this very place. The year 1955 is commemorated by a large-scale planting of trees (linden and ash) near the hospital building in memory of the parents who died in the war. In 1990, the area was cleared of all structures. This contributed to the emergence of a wasteland, which homeless men and women loved to live in. Local residents were unhappy at the sight of such a picture of what was happening and asked the city authorities to create a park from ownerless space.

After in 2016, the improvement work began thanks to the specialists of the organization " MAGLI project".

What can be found in the park "Gorka"

..Despite the small area, this park gives visitors a lot of impressions and emotions. Its originality lies in the presence of three levels, which are separated by seven zones. The highlight of the park can rightfully be considered through passages, which are the pride of local Muscovites.

For lovers of activity, a basketball court or exercise equipment is suitable. Children are happy to swing on a swing, walk along the "spider line" or in a maze. For people who prefer to be alone with themselves, a beautiful metal gazebo is offered.

In the park "Gorka" a huge amount of green vegetation. It is surrounded by flower beds, birches, pines, roses and lilacs. Spring reveals the aroma of each plant and fills the park with pleasant incense.

The Moscow Choral Synagogue, which is the most interesting building in the city, and the Turgenev estate are perfectly visible from some parts of the park. Silence, birdsong and nature will help to abstract from the bustle of the city. Park "Gorka" designed specifically for this, so that a person leaves there renewed, exclusively with the presence of positive emotions.
