History

The building was rebuilt back in 1929 with money allocated by the Moscow Council. The planetarium became the second one in Russia and was designed to surprise both the inhabitants of Russia and foreign visitors.
The basis of the structure was initially covered by a dome, and inside it there was a hall with seats for 1400 people. The best projection apparatus "Carl Zeiss" was brought for the audience. from Germany.
Note! After the opening, for the first ten years, pilots were even trained here for flights in the conditions of the Arctic, and a little later – astronauts.
