Moscow zoo farms

In the modern world, animal lovers do not stop at petting zoos, they are interested in whole zoo farms where you can not only watch and pet animals, but also partially participate in their maintenance. There is an opinion that zoo farms of the Moscow Region – this is the habitat of goats, sheep, chickens and other domestic animals familiar to central Russia. In fact, having driven a few tens of kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road, you can visit places where alpacas, raccoons, ostriches, camels, crocodiles live.

Ostrich

These birds are bred on farms in the Dmitrovsky (in the village of Selyavino) and Serpukhov (in the village of Starye Kuzmenki) districts. In addition to African ostriches, there you can see emus, as well as hairy nutria. Employees conduct a tour of the places where these animals are kept, which is accompanied by a detailed story about the stages of development of ostriches, the arrangement of their nests. During the tour, you can take pictures, feed the birds, and you are even allowed to ride one of them under the supervision of an employee. Here you can also try ostrich egg scrambled eggs and delicious shish kebab.

Alpaca

These animals are considered one of the cutest, so any tourist will be happy to take pictures with them. This opportunity is provided by farms in the village of Panikovo (Serpukhov district) and in the village of Pokhodkino (Dmitrovsky district). In addition to photographs of animals, you can feed yourself or just stroke. The funniest photos can be taken with a freshly trimmed alpaca.

Crocodiles

Caimans have been bred in the village of Parfentyevo in the Kolomna region for a long time. Everyone can get a photo with these formidable reptiles here, watch them and see how they are fed. In addition to crocodiles, the farm has a large number of other "exotic" animals: mongooses, pythons, raccoons and many others.

Here you can stay for a day and have a good time. Photographing and observing all the exotic animals can take up most of the day. After that, there is an opportunity to visit the local bathhouse and take a good steam bath in it. There is also a shop on site for those who want to buy organic products.

Camels and raccoons

Ethnopark with the telling name «Nomad» located in the city of Khotkovo. Most of the animals presented there – these are camels, llamas, Mongolian yaks. You can have a fun weekend there and feel like a real nomad. To do this, you just need to rent a small yurt. In addition to animals, here you can enjoy performances with the music of different nations, visit the shadow theater. Also nearby is the famous "Raccoon House", where both adults and children go with pleasure.
