Amber Gallery

Walking along the Old Arbat, you should definitely visit the new trade and exhibition space “Yantarnaya Gallery” (house 23 building 1). The historical building houses a company store and a museum of JSC "Kaliningrad Amber Plant". Company since 1947 develops the world's largest field on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Contains 90% of the world's amber reserves, 50 million years old.

The complex was opened in Moscow on the International Museum Day, May 18, 2021. For a short period of its existence, won the hearts of lovers of solar stone.

Exhibition hall – the modern exposition, located on the basement floor of the building, occupies 150 sq.m., has more than 700 exhibits. It contains a collection of amber objects, products and copyright works of the plant.

The largest (1796gr.) nugget is presented in the hall. You can consider in detail the inclusions – specimens that have preserved representatives of the plant and animal worlds inside. Eye-catching showcases with the rarest and most expensive form of stone – drop-shaped.
 
The museum is equipped with multimedia complexes, installations, thanks to which it has become interesting for visitors of all ages. Group and individual interactive excursions are held daily, where those who wish will learn:

2. History (methods) of stone extraction, amber trade routes.
3. Information about the westernmost region of the country – Kaliningrad region.
4. The industrial history of the Kaliningrad Amber Plant.
5. Technology for the extraction of Baltic amber.
6. Physical, chemical properties of stone, processing technologies.

The store is located on the first floor of the complex. Beautiful showcases display a rich assortment of exclusive works, jewelry, souvenirs made of solid and pressed stone. The products are made from both the usual yellow-orange amber and stones of beige, burgundy, brown-black colors.

Showcases shine with a wide variety of jewelry products for every taste and budget. It is impossible to leave such a place without a purchase. Jewelry made in combination with precious metals (gold, silver) and other stones will not leave anyone indifferent. In the process of admiring the products, you can drink a cup of tea.
