The Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo Estate is located in the North-Western Administrative District of Moscow. In the past, it was a noble estate and was called otherwise – first Pokrovskoye-Glebovo, and then Glebovo-Streshnevo. The estate itself was built in the seventeenth century. On the territory of the attraction are:

  • Master's house (main building of the estate)
  • Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God
  • Outbuildings
  • Specially equipped park (in which several artificial ponds were created)

History of the place

In early 1626, Streshneva married the very first Tsar of Russia. They had 10 children, which provided a great line of heritage. It was then that the Streshnev family began to occupy a special place at the government court.

In the village of Pokrovskoye, a noble court was built on the initiative of Rodion Matveyevich. It was he who was considered the original owner of the estate. In the middle of the seventeenth century, the grandson of Rodion, Peter Ivanovich, completely rebuilt the building, significantly expanding it. Further, the estate became more and more like a classic noble estate.

After the October Revolution, the government began to use the estate as a sanatorium. And during the Great Patriotic War, the estate was a hospital. Since 1998, Pokrovskoye-Stershnevo has been considered a protected area. However, even this did not help the estate to survive from destruction. At the same time, the attraction burned several times. In one of the last fires, the attic was badly damaged. Since the end of 2017, the estate has been officially transferred to the management of the State Environmental Institution of Moscow. In the near future, it is planned to restore and restore the once extinct estate.

In the northwest, the park ends at the Khimka River. Next to it is the spring "Tsarevna-Swan", from which you can draw clean water. It is extremely difficult to get lost in such a large area. To prevent this, signs and maps of the park were installed.
