Ultramodern AZ Museum

Ultramodern AZ Museum

The ultra-modern AZ museum in the form of an iso-series   is an outlandish attraction of the Russian capital.

This is a rather young and rather dynamically developing museum that actualizes the work of nonconformist artists of the 60s and 70s. From the very moment of its opening, the concept was immediately tied to the form of "isoserial". The creators of the Museum initially abandoned a single invariable  parameter, because the storerooms are huge, and it is precisely the changing expositions and regularly updated exhibitions that will allow people to gradually explore the essence and depth of nonconformist art.

The AZ Museum is considered the first Russian private museum of one artist. The central inspiration for this project was Anatoly Zverev, a nonconformist and rebel from the sixties.
This cultural institution was given its unusual name AZ due to the fact that Zverev signed all his creations briefly in two letters A and Z.

Multimedia space-transformer.

The AZ Museum occupies a whole three-story mansion. Stunning exhibitions of Zverev's art are constantly changing, revealing to visitors the beauty and value of his works from different angles. This demonstration concept is called an "isoserial". This approach was chosen as the most rational, because the collection includes more than 1500 original works of the master, as well as his letters, treatises on painting written by him and other  prose and political works of the artist and films about his biography. It is impossible to present everything at once. And so every exhibition — this is an outstanding and bright event in the cultural life of Moscow. Leading progressive artists, designers and other multimedia professionals are working on the design of the museum.

A separate word must be said about the lighting of the paintings. The light is thoughtfully set out so that visitors in each picture can feel the meaning and depth inherent only in it. You will not find anything similar in other museums. The Museum hosts educational programs for children, and interesting exciting excursions for adults.

The author's exposition of Anatoly Zverev  is located on almost 500 sq. m., occupying three floors of the building. Comfort, cleanliness and the complete absence of a feeling of crampedness are inherent in this place.

How to get to the AZ Museum for guests of the capital

The AZ Museum is located almost in the center of the capital, near Tverskaya Street - on the parallel 2nd Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street. A convenient option for guests of the capital would be to rent an apartment for rent on the same street where the Museum is located. You can get here by metro. Mayakovskaya metro station (this is the Zamoskvoretskaya line) from the cultural institution is within walking distance. At the station, you should choose the exit to 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya.

Collection of works by Anatoly Zverev

The reference point for the creation of the Museum was the interest of the public in the work of A. Zverev. After many of his paintings were nearly destroyed in a fire in 2012, it was decided to found the AZ Museum.  Zverev's work is diverse and ambiguous. Recognition came to this extraordinary man only after his death. Among the paintings of the artist, each visitor is sure to find those that resonate in the soul.

Museum staff – These are people who love what they do. Tour guides are beyond praise. The constantly updated exposition irresistibly attracts to visit this wonderful museum again and again.
