Cold War Museum "Bunker-42"

"Bunker-42" - one of the most interesting sights of Moscow. This is a Cold War museum located in a deep bunker in the center of the capital. History of Creation

1940s – the time of aggravation of relations between the USSR and the USA, the Cold War and the race for nuclear weapons: who will become the ruler of the world and a superpower?
Stalin was a pragmatist and did not look at "friendship"; from the United States in rose-colored glasses, missiles with nuclear warheads could be sent to the USSR at any moment. Naturally, the most valuable people (the government) had to be kept – who would run the country after a nuclear war? It was decided to build a bunker in which to survive a nuclear explosion. Provided everything – ventilation, artesian wells, food supplies.

Note! "Bunker-42" also called Stalin's bunker, "GO-42" and «ChZ-293». The abbreviations suggest that this is not the only fortification in the capital, but only this one has been declassified!

Now the bunker is open for visits, guests are invited to go down the steep stairs and experience the operation of reliable ventilation – everyone instantly stuffs their ears from the increase in pressure.

The museum conducts individual and group tours by appointment, independent visits are prohibited for safety reasons. Children under 14 only accompanied by an adult, particularly impressionable and claustrophobic visit is not recommended.
Finding the museum is very easy! This is the very center of Moscow, the legendary Taganka, 5th Kotelnichesky lane, 11. Landmark – yellow mansion, gathering of the group at the green gate with a red star.
