Palace of Gymnastics Irina Viner-Usmanova

Palace of Gymnastics Irina Viner-Usmanova

On June 18, 2019, the Palace of Gymnastics named after Irina Viner-Usmanova opened its doors to athletes and visitors. Such an unusual structure looks just grandiose against the background of other sports arenas, playgrounds and palaces. It strikes with its colossal size, the amount of effort invested in construction. It stands out not only for its unique appearance and architecture, but also for the technologies used. Professional and innovative equipment is provided: security systems, climate control, heating and lighting.

Since the areas of the complex were originally planned for sports purposes, this theme can be traced in the architecture of the building itself. The roof in golden and silver tones resembles a gymnastic ribbon developing in the wind, and huge glazed stained-glass facades make the whole building visually weightless, as if floating in the air. This effect is enhanced by well-designed and mounted lighting and illumination. The complex is equipped with the most modern control system, which makes staying in the building comfortable and safe.

The interior of the Gymnastics Palace is striking from the first minutes, as soon as you get into the central hall, which is decorated with mosaics in the Russian folk style. It should be noted that the sports complex is suitable not only for playing sports, holding a variety of sporting events, but also for recreation. After all, the Gymnastics Palace contains a fairly extensive infrastructure, which includes:

  • small hotel;
  • SPA zone;
  • restaurant and buffets;
  • press room;
  • a very impressive transformer arena;
  • gyms and training rooms.

There is practically the only interactive media museum in the world dedicated to rhythmic gymnastics. On five interactive zones, you can trace the history of the development of not only gymnastics itself as a sport, but also learn about the life and achievements of all athletes. The museum is especially popular with the younger generation.

Today, the Gymnastics Palace hosts not only the largest sporting events on a global scale, but also cultural leisure – concerts and various conferences.

It is worth noting that Irina Viner-Usmanova's Gymnastics Palace is world famous and was even noted at a real estate exhibition in Paris as the best project of culture and sports.
