Three most funny and unusual monuments of Moscow

Three most funny and unusual monuments of Moscow

When another group of tourists arrives in the capital, they are standardly shown magnificent monuments and sculptures, familiar to everyone from history textbooks and advertising brochures. And we propose to move away from the cultural and historical center of Moscow, walk through the quiet streets and parks and admire the most unusual, ironic and ridiculous sculptures of modernity. They are in fact unique, no more in any other city in the world. And besides, you are guaranteed original memorable photos “not like everyone else” and a lot of positive! This is a great entertainment option in the capital for those tourists who do not like classic excursion programs and enjoy exploring the cities on their own.

Street sculpture "Dear ducklings!"

Those who have been to St. Petersburg may be familiar with such a local landmark as the sculpture of Chizhik-Pyzhik. His fate is unenviable - tourists constantly steal Siskin, and sometimes locals, as a memorable souvenir. In Moscow, there is an analogue - a mother-duck with a brood of ducks, decently marching across the pavement.

Few people know, but in fact the duck family is also foreign tourists, more precisely, immigrants. The sculptures were donated by Raisa Mikhailovna Gorbacheva during her visit to the United States to the First Lady of the country at the time, Barbara Bush. These ducks are just copies, the original is in the Boston City Park. Initially, the sculptures were dedicated to the heroes of Robert McCloskey's fairy tale popular in the USA.

Where is: city square near the Novodevichy monastery

Hours: around the clock, free admission

Features attractions: seven ducklings and mother duck securely mounted on the pavement. And so that the cast-iron animals certainly would not be taken away, a booth with a round-the-clock guard is located nearby.

Monument to Leonov in the film "Gentlemen of Fortune"

Three most funny and unusual monuments of MoscowThe youth, most likely, will not recall either this cult film of the Soviet era, or its main character, the Associate Professor. But the older generation will be pleased to admire the beloved hero in his pants and stretched T-shirt with the characteristic fingers extended - blinked out and fall into tears! The monument to the natural human height is installed on Mosfilmovskaya street. There is no protection near the sculpture, because the Assistant Professor’s hands and chest are decorated with tattoos left by humorous tourists. All fans of the Soviet comedy can stroll here and take memorable photos in the room with their favorite hero or near the ancient movie camera - this monument is located literally two steps from the monument to Leonov.

Monument to all lovers

Ducks for children were, Associate Professor for pensioners was. And now there will be a huge steel heart for lovers and active young people. This modern sculpture was erected on the initiative of the Silver Rain radio station in the Hermitage Park. the idea was this: lovers should go through the heart, necessarily ringing the cylindrical bells suspended from the body, and make a wish.

But to the youth, all this seemed too simple and boring. The enterprising guests of the city and the locals decided ... to blow the bells, who will tell someone! The couple becomes on both sides of the heart and begins to diligently blow the bells - the louder the ringing the better! The competition continues until one of the lovers falls down to the pedestal of the iron heart. The one who has survived is considered the winner, chiefly in the future family and, accordingly, making a wish. So if you want to train your lungs, and at the same time make sure of the strength of your and your partner - you are in the Hermitage, on the back yard, with a metal heart with bells.
