Prechistenskaya embankment

Prechistenskaya embankment is located on the left bank of the Moskva River. On the one hand, it ends with Lenivka Street, and on the other, with the Crimean Bridge. 

Although the embankment is not one of the most popular places for recreation and walking, there are many interesting architectural buildings here, an excellent view of the Kremlin, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Red October factory opens up. and, of course, the Moscow River.

After the revolution of 1917, Prechistenskaya embankment became known as Kropotkinskaya, since 1993 the historical name was returned.

What to see on the embankment

Old buildings are successfully combined with modern status housing complexes.

The most colorful buildings in terms of architecture include:

Pepper's House - a building in the neo-Russian style is often called the “fairy tale house” for his unusual bright style, the presence of images of fairy-tale characters and bizarre flowers;
Tsvetkov's House - the building belonged to the collector and philanthropist Ivan Tsvetkov, at one time a collection of drawings from the Tretyakov Gallery was kept in its halls, the building was built in the architectural traditions of Russian architecture;
House number 33 - a mansion, decorated with a tower, belonged to the architect Mazurin, today the embassy of Madagascar is located here;
Firsanova's house - belonged to the owner of the Sandunovsky baths, today the consulate of Switzerland is located in the neo-Gothic building.

Several modern residential complexes were built on Prechistenskaya Embankment, distinguished by original architectural solutions, panoramic windows, and impressive room sizes. One of them, Maple DOM at numbers 5 and 7, has a custom zigzag shape and is lined with chocolate-colored tiles.

Another well-known modern building is "Barkley Plaza" - a multifunctional complex with offices, restaurants, shops and apartments.

Where to spend time

After walking along the pedestrian zone, you can turn into one of the many restaurants on the waterfront. Here you can try dishes for every taste: Georgian, Italian, French, Russian cuisine. Dessert lovers are advised to visit the Table one restaurant, where you can not only choose a cake, ice cream, cheesecake or any other sweet to your taste, but also admire the pleasant cozy interior and a beautiful view of the river.

The most convenient way to get to Prechistenskaya embankment is from the Park Kultury metro station.
