Monument to the omens of students

Monument to the omens of students

Oh, these students! This is not a status, and not a profession, or even a state of mind. This is a separate race with its own culture, language, place of residence and other attributes of a completely independent and clearly differentiated ethnic group. The main features of the student mentality are creativity and a sense of humor. And they are very superstitious, and therefore in every event and object they see some sort of magic sign.

One of the most creative leaders of the students decided to combine these signs with their interpretations into one. So, obviously, and appeared in 2008 in de Youth (June 27) in Moscow, the Student Monument will.

Where is: art. Metro "Marino", Park 8560 anniversary of Moscow, opposite the street. Porechnaya, 15 (Theological Seminary)

Hours: around the clock, free admission

The monument is a small round area of red granite, around which the names of Moscow universities are carved, and in the center there is a huge penny (sample of 1978, by the way, exactly corresponds to the original) - the main totem of all students. Also on the granite site there is a record book of bronze and ragged shoes. If you look at the shoes, you can find another one penny.

In fact, the decision to create a monument in Marino was made in honor of the 850th anniversary of the capital. A competition was announced, in which 500 universities participated. Won the project MHARI, it was for him and was created this masterpiece of student creativity. Original, simple in execution, reflecting the most basic student signs and superstitions of students before the session - these were the requirements. That was the result of the monument.

Naturally, many traditions are connected with this peculiar and funny monument. Previously, students went to Revolution Square before the exams to rub the dog's nose. And now you need to come to the Park of the 850th anniversary of Moscow, stand on the coin and make a wish. You can also try on shoes and leave coins in them. You can stand on the coin and throw a coin so that it falls on the name of your university. And you can attach your record to the bronze. Some, especially the “gifted” students, in order for the omen to work for certain, tried to carry both their worn-out shoes and the record book with them. Fortunately, everything was returned to the place. Since that time, the student monument has not been subjected to vandalism. By the way, the students say that the monument “works, and the sessions after all the rituals in coins, shoes and record books develop successfully.
